Today I was asked by one of the managers to see if I can design any interactive displays to place outside the enclosures of different animals, particularly those that visitors are particularly interested in but may not be able to see. The lions is a very good example of this, because Simba and Bella (and all the other animals) have big enough enclosures so that they do not need to be upset by the presence of people. Most of the time they choose to stay within their forested areas so they can not be viewed. Annoying for visitors, and upsetting for the kids, but essential for the lion’s mental and physical health and general well being.
I am starting to look at this, and will post stuff as ideas occur. Meanwhile, if anyone has any brainwaves, please let me know!
