Preparing for a 12 week stay in Lilongwe Animal Sanctuary In Lilongwe, Malawi.

The work involves rescue and rehabilitation of any animal in need of care, whether this is due to injury, illness, or old age.  Some have been kept as pets and not cared for adequately, leaving animals with chronic health problems, and no longer able to care for themselves. Some will have been orphaned and can be returned to the wild after careful support that involves as little hands on care as possible.  Lilongwe also works to educate the locate community about the animals and the vital role they play in Africa's heritage.
